A true pioneer of less aggressive horse training, John Lyons has shared his knowledge with horsemen and horsewomen around the globe for more than 27 years. Always perfecting his training techniques, Lyons will give HorseFest visitors plenty of take-home, practical information. In addition to putting on three one-hour clinics each day, Lyons will also participate in Sunday’s Cowboy Church service.

KEN McNABB

 

 

Making mediocre horses good and good horses great—that’s Ken McNabb’s goal and he has helped thousands of equine enthusiasts from Texas to Alaska achieve it. One of the very first John Lyons Certified Trainers, McNabb grew up on a ranch and has a lifetime in the saddle as well as the ability to communicate his knowledge. Look for him in clinics daily throughout HorseFest.

SHANNON CUNNINGHAM

 

 

Shannon Cunningham’sNortheast Oklahoma A&M horse judging team has won multiple team championships at the American Quarter Horse Association’s World Championships. Alifelong horsewoman, Shannon will share her equine conformation insight with area FFAand 4-H members as well as adults who want to break down the building blocks of conformation for a better understanding of how form relates to function.

 

HORSEFEST SHOOTOUT

 

 

Join us Friday for a Cowboy Mounted Shooting Clinic presented by veteran shooter Jimmie Allen who will demonstrate the sport and provide information on what it takes to be competitive. Then, on Saturday and Sunday, hold onto your hat because the guns will be blazing and horses will be running flat-out as top cowboy shooters compete in the the HorseFest Shootout.

 

COWBOYCHURCH

 

 

Join us on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. for Cowboy Church. Coordinated by Southwest Missouri Christian Cowboys, the Western-oriented church service will feature John Lyons, Christian country music and inspiration for all. Cowboy Church Service 9:00 a.m. - 10 a.m. - At The Arena Exhibit Hall Will Open After Church Service at 10 a.m.
